Create a Perfect Website By Joining Design With Functionality and Usability

Designing a perfect website is not easy - and a good point to try to begin with such an effort is to perhaps define exactly what perfect means in this particular instance. In terms of internet design and considering all that this internet presence is supposed to do, it is pretty safe to say that a perfect website would be visually pleasing to visitors, easy to use, and capable of achieving whatever function is desired. Good form, usability, and function combined into one package is the goal and it may sound not that difficult to achieve. Truthfully, getting all three of these components to come together can be very challenging and is the main difficulty that is faced in website design.

Goals

Following are the three main goals that should be considered when creating a sound internet presence:

Form - It is important for a website to have an appealing appearance. Using good layouts, color schemes and imagery to attract viewers and keep them interested in that particular location is the primary function of good form. When internet design is clearly understood, including how to appropriately use fonts, images, color, and whitespace, it is possible to achieve visually pleasing designs that include all of these significant components and avoid visual mistakes that push viewers away from an internet location. Usability - After good form has done its job and created enough interest for viewers to stay at that location, then good usability that will keep readers at that location. In order for readers to find desired information or whatever information a designer wants to be seen, a website must be usable. Menus and links must work properly and quickly. Images and other page elements must be fast-loading. It is important to create a design to enhance user experience so that all desired information can be found, as it is this type of positive experience that will keep viewers coming back and being purchasers. Function - Form and usability are important; however, it is function that must work correctly so that a transaction will be the end result. If a website does not properly perform its main functions, it is of no help to any business or organization even if it is aesthetically pleasing as well as user-friendly. Website functionality must be determined first before anything else so that the development and layout can be done side-by-side to create a design that achieves the ultimate goal of viewer conversions while retaining that good, useable appearance. One of the more critical areas that can affect all of this is navigation; it must be creative without sacrificing functionality or usability.

Individually, each of these components are fairly straightforward and certainly manageable. It is when all three of these must be incorporated into one design with proper functioning throughout the entire website that issues can arise. Many times it is difficult to maintain the right functionality with optimization and conversion rate considerations while increasing usability - yet such balance is critical. Having a website that upholds all three main elements offers a great outcome by joining design with functionality and useability!
